Here is the first reveal of my 3-pointed Celtic knot, from my Celtic Cymru Collection 💚🥰 It is a symbol that is close to my heart.
The number 3 is seen as Sacred in Ancient Welsh, Celtic & Druidic Traditions, and is often expressed through symbolism & in Celtic Art.
The triad directly reflects ancient Celtic beliefs around cosmology and spirituality.
It represents the 3 Cauldrons (The Celtic Interpretation of the Chakra System),
The 3 worlds (Sea/Annwn/The Lower World, Earth/Talam/The Middle world, Sky/Nemos/The Celestial Realm),
The Holistic Trio (Mind, Body & Spirit),
Among many other things from folklore, mythology & ancient Welsh History, (including the Mnemonic Oral Tradition of the Ancient Druids who were forbidden from writing anything down, and spent 20 years memorising all they needed to know about nature, philosophy etc. They used triads to assist them in this massive undertaking!).
It is often worn as a talisman, and as a nod to these ancient traditions.
Did you know any of these? What, if anything, does it mean to you?
I am making these in a selection of colours, (mostly greens), that will be available as Brooches & Applique patches.
The original pattern for these is from www.instagram.com/@happyberrycrochet, you can find the pattern for free on her website & a tutorial on her youtube channel.
Do you have any suggestions or requests of other things I can add to this collection? Let me know in the comments.
Lots of love / Cariad Mawr,
Holly 🌿
